My roommate is also one of my best friends; we met in
first year university at Queen's because we were both cast in the
musical, Bye Bye Birdie.
You may remember this musical as a classic 1950s spoof. Or maybe you
don't remember. Anyway, after 3 years of living in a 6-person "ghetto"
house in Kingston with Rob (that's his name), we have moved on to a
cleaner, warmer, cheaper apartment all to ourselves this year while we
work towards getting our B.Eds at Queen's. Rob and I get along pretty
darn well, but there are times when he is a little unimpressed with me.
Here is a list of those times:
1. When I play Christmas music before the last week of November (I busted it out one night a couple weeks ago when he wasn't home so that he wouldn't have to hear)
2. When I pretend that I can have a conversation without mentioning camp or the outdoors (he's right, I can't)
3. When I complain that he eats all the delicious chocolate chip zucchini loaf that his mom often makes for us when I clearly have just as a great an opportunity to enjoy it, I just always forget it's there
4. When I don't take a shower for 3 days
5. When I stick my finger in his ear after he falls asleep on the couch
6. When I do computer-geeky things like join Flickr, read blogs, check my camp's website for new photos and information, etc. Which brings us to the reason why I'm talking about Rob: I've now started my own blog.
When I told Rob that I'd started a blog he made an unimpressed face. Actually, the unimpressed was probably apparent not only because I was creating a blog, but also because I was playing on the computer instead of showering and getting ready to leave (we had to get to church to sing during the "Fall Festival"). Actaully, the latter is probably the main reason for his unimpressed face; I can add to my list that Rob is also unimpressed when I create blogs instead of getting ready to go. At any rate, Rob has very little interest in blogs (unless he's hiding a deeply held love from me), but just the same, I'm going to start forcing him to read mine. I know he'll at least read this first one because I told him it was about him.
So, welcome to my blog! This has the potential to become something that I quickly forget about or don't have anough time to update regularly, but for now I'm on the blogging bandwagon.
